Cooper is seeking a new home in Michigan – Adopted!

Last updated on December 29, 2017 By Puppy Leaks 7 Comments

Cooper has been looking for his forever home for 2 years. Although he’s well taken care of with the folks at A New Leash on Life what he really wants is a nice forever family to call his own. He’s approximately 3 years old and loves the company of other dogs. He chases cats so a home without felines is recommended. He’s super sweet, fun loving, and up for anything. He’ll make a great companion for someone who loves life as much as he does. If you’re interested in Cooper please e-mail anewleashonlife@hotmail.com to request an adoption application.

From A New Leash on Life:

coopers“Cooper has a face that just melts your heart! He was rescued from a high kill pound where he was a volunteer favorite but his time had run up and he was next in line to be put down. Cooper is so happy to have been rescued and can’t wait to meet his forever family!

He is crate trained, knows his basic commands, and very friendly! He greets everyone he meets as though its not the first time : )Cooper really loves other dogs but chases cats too much to be in a home with them.

He gets excited for playtime with other dogs so would be best with a dog of similar size who also enjoys play (or a senior in similar size who would ignore invites to play).

He is very responsive to training and like all other dogs in our care, we are looking for someone to continue to provide positive reinforcement. Please email anewleashonlife@hotmail.com to request an adoption application. Cooper would do best in a home with grown kids as being around chaos with the little ones seems to overwhelm him. He is approx 3 years old.

ADOPTION FEE $200. We do same day adoptions, so please be prepared to bring your new family member home! This includes having a collar, ID tag, and leash for your new canine companion. These items, along with many other pet care needs, are available for purchase at Petco. The adoption fee can be satisfied in the form of cash or check (made payable to: A New Leash On Life). Thank you!! **We are a foster based rescue, meaning all of our rescue companions stay in foster homes until they are adopted. We hold monthly adoption events and are also happy to try to schedule a convenient time for you to meet a particular rescue dog by submitting a completed application**”

Two years in a long time to be in a foster home. Cooper sounds like he will make a wonderful addition to most homes.

I’m not sure why he hasn’t been adopted, 2 years is an awful long time. Especially given he has such a great personality; doesn’t seem like it would be too hard to find a home without cats for him.

He’s so handsome! I’m so glad that he was pulled from the high kill shelter. Hopefully someone adopts him soon. (In the meantime, a huge thank you to the fosters for taking such good care of him!) Sharing him.
