Dogs are part of the family, and as such we love having them join in on the holiday festivities. And luckily for us, making our dogs feel special doesn’t require fancy gifts or anything extravagant. From making some yummy homemade treats to spending some extra snuggle time together, here’s 5 simple ways to treat your dog this holiday.

Make Some Homemade Dog Treats

It’s tempting to give in and give your dog some of those treats we enjoy, but many of those human treats can cause stomach issues for your dog. If you want to give your dog something extra special this holiday, and make sure they don’t miss out on the yummy festivities make some treats just for them. Not sure what sort of treats to make? Here’s 25 simple dog treat recipes to choose from, all made with 5 ingredients or less.

Take Your Dog to One Of Their Favorite Places

If you want to make your dog’s holiday more special this year take a trip to one of their favorite places. Whether it’s the local park, their favorite trail, or a trip to visit one of their doggie friends, taking your dog somewhere they love is a simple way to make their day more special.

Spend Some Extra Snuggle Time Together

Another easy way to make your dog’s holiday more special is to spend some extra cuddle time together. Grab a blanket and cuddle up with your dog on the couch while catching up with your favorite show. I don’t know about you, but being all cozy and cuddled up with my dog during the winter is one of my favorite ways to spend an evening. And the best part? My dog loves it just as much as I do.

Give Your Dog a Gift To Unwrap

If you’ve got a gift in mind that you know your dog would enjoy wrap it up and give it to them when everyone else is opening their presents. It’s an easy way to make them part of the festivities and make them feel extra special.

Have Some Extra Play Time With Your Dog

One of the easiest ways to make your dog’s day more special is to add in some more quality play time. Add in an extra game of tug of war or fetch to make your dog’s day more special.

I think I will do the extra snuggling on the couch and go on a road trip. My dog Rocky loves riding in my truck.

My dog loves it when we have time to spend with each other, meaning that he loves holidays (whether he understands it or not). But he hates traveling with us especially because of the car engine sound…
